On the road again!

Well, this initial post is long overdue and now seems unnecessary as we are already underway, but maybe an introduction is still better late than never?!

We’ve just set out for a bit of an adventure that has us on the road for awhile. Most of you likely know that, as you’ve ended up at here. However, we find ourselves answering the same questions over and again, so here’s the FAQ summary:

1. What are you doing?

Travelling, for an extended period of time.

2. Where are you going?

Stage 1: Africa (staring in Kenya and working generally south-west until we reach South Africa)
Stage 2: Trans-Mongolian Railway from Beijing to St.Petersburg
Stage 3: Nepal/Tibet/India
Stage 4: Australia/New Zealand

3. How long are you going for?

Approximately 8 months (Stage 1 = 2 months, Stage 2 = 1 month, Stage 3 = 2 months, Stage 4 = 3 months)

4. Why are you doing this?

We’re not sure, exactly. But, why not…?

5. Haven’t you done this before?

Yes. Refer to previous blog entries.

6. What did you do with all your stuff?

We sold a lot, and are storing the rest at our extremely generous Aunt and Uncle’s house. We’ve downsized to ~150 cubic feet, so it’s less than you might think… (although said Aunt and Uncle might think otherwise…)

7. What is Kristin going to eat? Won’t she starve?

She’s hoping to starve off a least 10lbs. Then she’ll eat rice and drink Coke.

8. How much does this cost…?

Lots.

9. Where did you get the money?

It may, or may not have been from selling crack.

10. Are you coming home?

Eventually. Probably.

Does that clear everything up, then? Good.

We’ll leave it at that for now, with more tales to come…

Bye for now,
Kristin and Cam.

Will you by any chance be in Nepal at the start of September? I'll be there rafting for a week on a break from the Saudi Arabian heat over Ehid.

Jon- we'll miss you by a month! Too bad- that would have been awesome- especially if we didn't almost drown this time...
