Departure- Phase I

Our "theoretical" first stop of the trip is Quito, Ecuador, on October 2. The "real" first stop is Adam and Reanna's house in Vancouver tonight. Then the airport at 7am tomorrow. Then Dallas. Then Miami for a 20 hour stopover. Then, finally, Quito. So the first leg of our trip will take about 55 hours... Not exactly the model of efficiency.

We finished packing our bags last night. Mine weighs 24 pounds, Cam's weighs 29- I think that's fair :) My pile of clothes is ridiculously small...

I had a realization a few days ago that when I leave my house today it may be the last time I ever get to set foot inside. Since Mum and Dad are leaving on their own trip before we get home from ours, the house could likely be sold (or demolished, if you ask my Dad...) before I get home. This is the only house I ever lived in until I was 22 and moved to Vancouver to work. I had never even changed rooms. So- it's actually pretty significant to me that I might never see it again as "our house". I'll take some photos today, and then move on. It's all about letting go...

Anyway, 2 more hours here before the start of Phase I...

Kristin.
